The new Hammond SK Keyboards : a splendid combination of a real Hammond and great vintage sounds...
Stage Keyboard SK1-88
The Ultra-Portable HAMMOND SK-series pack all the power, all the tradition, and all the soul of a Vintage B-3 into a trim 15-pound package. We haven't stopped there, including a wide series of other voices, like Acoustic and Electric Pianos, Clav, Vintage Combo Organs, Vintage String Synthesizer, Accordions, Pipe Organ, and many others. The SK series aren't watered-down "light" or "clone" versions of a Hammond, either. All the classic features that "make" a Hammond are included: Real Mechanical Drawbars, "Waterfall" Keyboard, Touch Response Percussion, Chorus Vibrato, and a new-generation "Digital Leslie" that gives the big speaker a run for the money. Your eyes see "portable" but your ears hear, and your touch says: "B-3"...
For a long time the Hammond sound has been indispensable in rock and pop music amongst other genres. Acoustic pianos and other vintage keyboard sounds are also very popular and frequently used in all kinds of music.
With the introduction of the new SK series Hammond has successfully combined the legendary B-3 sound with high quality vintage sounds such as acoustic pianos, electric pianos, strings and many other sounds and effects. The result is a combination which organists and keyboard-players could only dream of.
The SK-series Stage Keyboards are the most revolutionary HAMMONDS yet, from the company that invented and perfected the Drawbar/Tonewheel concept in 1934. These ultralight instruments provide the essential keyboard sounds required to play ANY show in ANY style, including a genuine and vintage-perfect HAMMOND Organ in compact packages with all the features expected in a vintage B-3, plus our most advanced Digital Leslie yet.
In addition to the authentic HAMMOND Tonewheel voices, the SK's Extravoice Division provides Hi-Def Acoustic Grands, Electric Piano's, Harpsichord, Accordeon, Wind, Brass, Synth and Tuned Percussion voices complete the spec. You may play any of the Extravoices "solo" or add them to the Organ voices. The Organ Generator may be switched to provide authentic models of British Vx Organ, Vx Jag.Organ and Italian Farf Combo Organs, all of which can be registered in the original fashion. The fourth Organ mode calls 32 ranks of Genuine Classical ("Church") Pipe Organ voices.
Like all modern Hammonds, the SK's have deep editing capabilities, allowing voicing (volume/timbre/leakage/motor noise) for each of the 96 Digital Tonewheels, faithfully delivering any Hammond Organ's individual personality, with the ability to save these profiles for instant recall. 12 Factory Digital Tonewheel profiles ranging from "showroom clean" to "road worn" are available for instant personalization. Every Facet of the Hammond's sound like Chorus/Vibrato, Percussion, Key Click and Overdrive are widely adjustable with all settings saved with every preset.
The Pipe Organ voices are also scaling/voicing capable.
Their semi-weighted keyboards are designed to feel like a vintage B-3, yet remain comfortable for any pianist, with variable touch "depth". An expandable Voice Library is available free from the Hammond Website.
Any of the SK Series may be used as a MIDI Controller, with the ability to address 3 external zones.
An mp3/wav music-player is onboard to play backing tracks, break music, educational aids or any other tunes combined with the SK's stereo output. You may also direct connect a physical Leslie Speaker via the 8pin dedicated Leslie Jack.
Equipped with the same sound engine (VASE III) as our highly acclaimed Hammond XK-3c, the SK models feature the best Hammond has to offer; the legendary Hammond B-3 Sound, high quality Acoustic pianos, Vintage Electric pianos, Vintage strings, Pipe-organs and many other sounds and effects.
With the ability to download additional library sounds via USB the Hammond SK models offer players unique possibilities for individual setups.
The beautiful designed Hammond SK models are affordable, extremely lightweight, compact and feature everything needed for "live" or "studio" performance.

Synth M12 - This voice library provides classic sounds from the famous 'M12' synthesizer. This classic instrument from the 80's used analog sound generators, the sounds from which were then shaped and manipulated by various means. This instrument was unique in that it used digital circuitry to implement voltage control over all the sound-producing components (VCO, VCF and VCA). Groups such as 'Depeche Mode' and 'Vangelis' took advantage of this instrument's unique ability to generate big majestic brass sounds which are represented in this library.(This library requires 'Software Release 3 MAIN 1.112' or later) (Box Brass - Brazz - Horn Ensemble) (LibVL-SK018_100.SYS-file 6851Kb)

SOUNDS FEATURING "PROCHORD" FUNCTION: Extra Voice instruments that contain "Pcd" in their description feature Hammond's exclusive ProChord function. When notes or chords are played on a Lower Manual and a note is played on an Upper Manual, the note represented by the key played on the Upper Manual is heard along with a scored harmony pattern which sounds according to the Chord Root and Chord Type selected by the notes played on the Lower Manual.
Sk1, Sk1-73, Sk1-88: The SPLIT feature must be enabled (SPLIT Touch Tab "ON") and a note or chord played to the left of the Split point in order for the harmony to sound when notes are played to the right of the Split point.
Sk2: A note or chord must be played on the Lower Manual in order for the ProChord harmony to sound when notes are played on the Upper Manual.
On both the Sk1 and Sk2, the harmony will sound ONLY if Lower Manual notes are pressed and held while the melody is played. If no Lower Manual notes are held, only the Melody note will sound. Also, when a ProChord Extra Voice is selected, play a single-note melody with the right hand while holding Lower Manual notes or chords so that the harmony will play correctly. If you wish to play chords using a ProChord Extra Voice, it is best if no Lower Manual notes are pressed and held at the same time. (LibVL-SK026_100.SYS-file 1460Kb)

Harmonica - This voice library provides the sounds of Harmonicas.(This library requires 'System Software Release 4, MAIN 1.112' or later - Chro Normal: Suzuki Chromatic Harmonica S-56C with a small amount of Vibrato. We recommend using this voice with some Reverb. - Chro Vibrato: Similar to Chro Normal, with added traditional Harmonica Vibrato. Bass notes added from the Suzuki Bass. - Chromatic Harmonica S-48B - Chro Detune: A variation of the Chromatic Harmonica with slight detuning. - Chro Whistle: A variation of the Chromatic Harmonica with a whistling tone. - Chro Duet Pcd: Two Chromatic Harmonicas playing in harmony using the ProChord feature.
UTILIZING THE "PROCHORD" (Pcd) FEATURE The "Chro Duet Pcd" voice utilizes Hammond-Suzuki's exclusive "ProChord" feature which adds harmonies to single notes played on the upper manual based on chords played on the lower manual. For the Sk1 and Sk2, allocate the "Pcd" voice to the Upper Manual and using the SPLIT function of the Sk1, or the Lower Manual of the Sk2, assign the Organ (TW, Vx, Farf or Pipe) registration of your choice to the Lower Manual. For the SKX, it is recommended you assign the "Pcd" to EXV1, assign EXV1 to the Upper Manual and turn the ORGAN section "OFF" for the Upper Manual. Then, assign either an Organ (TW, Vx, Farf or Pipe) or an EXV2 registration of your choice to the Lower Manual. NOTE: The ProChord feature functions independently of the Lower Manual registration – the harmony will still be heard even with no Organ or Extra Voice registration for the LOWER manual.
- Single: The sounds of the Suzuki S-22C Harmonica. A lighter, brighter voice. - BChro Normal: Suzuki Bass Chromatic Harmonica S-48B without Vibrato. This instrument is used in the middle-bass range in a harmonica ensemble, but also suitable for melodies. - Bass Stacc: Suzuki Bass Harmonica SDB-39 played staccato. Samuel Wyatt
As a keyboardist, singer and songwriter, Samuel Wyatt has been breathing music since he was 12. Before that he listened and dreamed as his father would spin albums from Bing Crosby, The Beatles, Steely Dan and Bob Dylan. He soaked up every note from a variety of artists. This can be heard in his style today, combining Blues, Jazz and Rock. Working as a professional musician, Samuel has played in Original rock bands such as Wyatt and Train Company, releasing 2 full length albums with each. He has also performed many solo dates across Chicagoland. Additionally, he has shared the stage with the likes of Roy Hargrove, UFO, Marcus Printup, Wessell Anderson, Robin Eubanks, Jimmy Heath, Danny Serraphine, and Buck Holiday.
Jenny Jarnagin
What does Sayre, Oklahoma, Fort St. John, British Columbia, and St. Petersburg, Russia, have in common? These are three cities that shaped Jenny Jarnagin's musical gifts. Her distinctive sound comes from her small town roots mixed with her extensive classical training. With her unique ability to blend classical, jazz and pop, Jarnagin is a singer/songwriter with an eclectic voice accompanied by her extraordinary piano skills.
Grammy award winning producer, Bubba Smith, agrees, "Jenny's musical intuition is spot-on. Her combination of haunting melodies and lyrics captivated me at first listen." Grammy award winning arranger, Bob Freedman, says, "Jenny's songs have a marvelously unique and intriguing quality which manifests itself on a number of levels." Paul McCartney's sister, Ruth McCartney, of McCartney Multimedia, describes Jenny as, "that rare jewel in a sea of musical mayhem. She has a real quirky content slant that is refreshing and gives a different view to the mundane world which creeps up on us all."
Jarnagin describes her musical style as, "earthy, sophisticated and very original." She also believes it to be "musically nutritious because it is rich in substance and meaning." When asked to illustrate her personal style, Jarnagin says she is, "true to life, down to earth, and above all, original by nature." A single mother of two children, Jarnagin states, "I've also had the privilege of experiencing deep emotional opposites like desperation and empowerment, heartache and joy, failure and triumph, and frustration and clarity." A song that stands out to her off of her most recent album, Bullseye, is "Dealing with the Devil." She says, "it represents keeping faith through times of desperation, holding on when facing a force that is brutality destructive. This song represents a personal season of change in my own life, a season that could have ended in despair, but instead ended in victory."
Jarnagin made it clear at a very early age that she was headed for a career in music. At the tender age of three, she walked up to her family piano and began playing by ear, mimicking lullabies that her mother sang to her. Jarnagin, the youngest of four children, was born an "Okie" in Sayre, Oklahoma, but was raised Canadian after her family immigrated to Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Besides playing piano during her childhood, she enjoyed picking wildflowers, riding horses and playing with her pet chicken, Jenny. She also could be found ocean fishing with her father or doing ranch work such as welding, building fences and driving tractors. As she grew up, Jarnagin performed regularly at rest homes, local churches and other town events. After formal lessons beginning at age five, she then became the church pianist at the young age of seven. She was constantly surrounded by music through choir, jazz band, brass orchestra, piano recitals, piano accompaniment for plays, school productions, concert band and the list goes on. Jarnagin spent her summers studying and performing at The Conservatory of Music in Victoria, British Columbia.
During her college years, Jarnagin auditioned for an opportunity to study abroad over the summer semester at The Conservatory of Music in St. Petersburg, Russia. She recalls this as a pivotal moment in her life, "Going to Russia changed my outlook on life. My time there greatly strengthened my appreciation of musicianship as well as my technical proficiency as a pianist." Jarnagin graduated from Texas A&M University – Commerce with a Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance. Shortly thereafter, she pursued a Master's Degree in Music Education at Northern Arizona University while teaching in the music department at Xavier College Prepatory in Phoenix, Arizona.
Jarnagin's musical journey took a turn four years ago. The death of her grandfather prompted her to return to her roots in Oklahoma. As she was going through an old chest filled with family heirlooms, she remembers, "At that moment I asked myself what I would leave behind as my legacy. I knew the answer was music." Since then, she has been extremely passionate about her music and written nearly two hundred songs. Currently, Jarnagin is continuing to write and has expanded her horizons further with upcoming Canadian tours as well as shows in the US. She recently released her 10th album, Bullseye, in 2014, which was produced by Grammy Award winner, Bubba Smith, and recorded at Ben Folds (RCA) studio in Nashville, TN.

He is known as one of the most prominent leaders in the progressive rock movement, fusing rock 'n' roll with a myriad of musical styles, such as classical, jazz and world music. A modern wizard of electronic and acoustic keyboards, most notably the organ and synthesizer, he has set a standard by which others multiply. With both "The Nice" and "Emerson, Lake & Palmer", Emerson has written and recorded some of rock's most adventurous music and brought it to the masses with unmatched virtuosity and skillful showmanship.
Born November 2, 1944 in Todmorden, Lancashire, England, Keith Emerson soon became a piano sensation in his hometown of Worthing, Sussex by the time he was fourteen years old. In his late teens, he moved to London, joined the band "V.I.P.'s" and later "Gary Farr and the T-Bones", backing their mentor T-Bone Walker at the Marquee Club in London, also touring Germany, France and the UK. Some of his early influences were jazz artists Fats Waller, Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck, Jack McDuff and Big John Patton. Classical composers also became influential to his music including J.S. Bach, Aaron Copland, Demetri Shostokovich, Bela Bartok and Alberto Ginestera amongst others.
In his twenties, he formed a band called "The Nice" with bassist/vocalist Lee Jackson, drummer Brian Davison and guitarist David O'List, which backed ex-Ike and Tina Turner's singer P.P. Arnold. The group struck out on it's own with a unique blend of classical, blues, jazz and rock. Emerson adopted the Hammond Organ as his instrument of choice during this period and soon gained fame for his outrageous stage antics and inspired musical performances. "The Nice" recorded numerous albums and appeared in a notorious concert at London's Royal Albert Hall. Immediately after hearing "Switched on Bach" by Walter Carlos, Emerson purchased and experimented with one of the first modular Moog Synthesizers and became the first artist to tour with "The Moog" internationally with the help of its inventor, Dr. Robert Moog.
In 1970, "The Nice" broke up and Emerson formed the legendary group, "Emerson, Lake & Palmer" (ELP) with bassist/vocalist Greg Lake and drummer Carl Palmer. They achieved instant fame with their debut at the Isle Of Wight Festival in 1970. The trio announced their arrival on the scene by tearing into a furious rock adaptation of Mussorgsky's classic "Pictures At An Exhibition", which concluded with a barrage of cannon fire. Their first single, entitled "Lucky Man", from their debut album, "Emerson, Lake & Palmer", ended with a startling new sound, the lead Moog synthesizer solo. This sound took the world by storm, and the band was on its way. ELP released six platinum albums between 1970 and 1977, including "E, L & P", "Tarkus", "Trilogy", the cryptically entitled "Brain Salad Surgery", "Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends" and "Works Vol. 1". They headlined the massive 1974 festival California Jam playing to an audience of over 500,000. Later in 1977, ELP toured with a handpicked orchestra, which performed Emerson's "Piano Concerto No.1". After touring with the orchestra, ELP continued on the road as a trio, releasing two more albums "Works Vol. 2" and "Love Beach" before they disbanded in 1979.
Between 1985 and 1990, Emerson collaborated with Lake and Palmer in two separate efforts, "Emerson, Lake & Powell" and the band "3" respectively. In 1992, ELP reunited with the critically acclaimed "Black Moon". Subsequent world tours which resulted in the live performance releases of "Live at the Royal Albert Hall" in 1993 and "Then And Now" in 1999.
In 1980, Emerson issued his first solo album, a Caribbean island inspired work called "Honky". In addition, he recorded and released "The Christmas Album", displaying his own unique interpretation of many classic Christmas songs along with original seasonal pieces. Soon thereafter, he turned to motion picture soundtrack composition, producing several film scores between 1979 and 1989, including the orchestral score for Universal Studios feature release, "Nighthawks", starring Sylvester Stallone and Billy Dee Williams and cult Italian horror master Dario Argento's "Inferno". Emerson also realized a full length Japanese animated film entitled "Harmagedon" in which he received a gold record for the main title theme, "Children of The Light" sung by Rosemary Butler. Emerson also composed the music for Marvel Animation's cartoon action TV series, "Iron Man" in 1994.
Emerson went on to release the occasional collection of new material appearing on-stage. He even reunited with Nice band mates Brian Davison and Lee Jackson for a show in Glasgow, Scotland, in 2002 (Vivacitas). Along with the EMI classic release of the solo piano, "Emerson Plays Emerson" in the same year he penned an autobiography, "Pictures of an Exhibitionist" in 2003. He received the compilation treatment from Castle Records in 2005 with the two-disc "Hammer It Out: The Anthology". He toured in the USA, UK, Europe and Japan in 2004, 2005 & 2006 with his own "Keith Emerson Band", along with occasional collaborations with various orchestras in Naples, Italy and Beijing, China to promote the environmental issues. Always diverse in musical tastes, he sometimes sits in with jazz bands while encouraging others to take a safer road.
Throughout the years, Emerson has consistently won the Overall Best Keyboardist award in the annual Keyboard Magazine Readers' Poll, since the magazine debuted in 1975 and holds a seat of honor on their advisory board. He was recently honored at The Smithsonian Institution, along with Dr. Robert Moog, for his pioneering work in electronic music. Emerson released the new album, "Keith Emerson Band Featuring Marc Bonilla" with regular collaborator Marc Bonilla and producer Keith Wechsler in mid 2008 worldwide, and toured Eastern Europe, Baltic, and Japan following the release.
Keith Emerson passed away April 17th 2016 but his legacy lives on.
The thought of a Hammond instrument with 88 keys is jarring at first, but with a set of acoustic and electric pianos like those contained in the SK-series, it makes perfect sense that piano-players are going to want to get in the SK Fun.
The SK1-88 has a semi-weighted action, and its variable touch lets pianists feel right at home.
When the drawbars come into play, the Hammond-style Waterfall-keys translate the Hammond-vibe perfectly and accurately.
Splitting the big keyboard gives you two 44 note keyboards side by side, which effectively transforms the SK1-88 into a double manual organ, if you desire; or a wider berth for manual bass. Great for MIDI control as well.
